GEN X Rocks

Hi! I loved your blog! I too, am a Gen Xer, 46 year old - totally betwixted and between baby boomer siblings 10 years older than me and nieces and nephews and cousins 10 years younger than me.
I am so not boomer!
Have you read the book The Fourth Turning??
http://www.fourthturning.com/
It goes over exactly the differences you speak of! It totally made me finally understand why I was so different than my siblings even though TECHNICALLY I was born in 1961 and therefore should be a "boomer"....but I'm absolutely not.
Just had to tell you how much I appreciate what you wrote. Perfect!
Rock On Nameless!

Thank you for actually posting that. Now that my initial reaction has passed I'd like to say that it does no one justice to use such generalizations about an entire group of people. I'm a 52 yr old Democratic female who does not fit into any of the generalizations you proclaim with such certainty. I *am* a Boomer. So what? I'll gladly accept responsibility for any wrong 'we' have done... but all the many 'wrongs' in our nation today do not rest on our shoulders as a group. Period.

I'm (not really) sorry but your wide brush Boomer judgments are a total load of crap. Now print that you self-important, sermonizing ungrateful .... never mind, you stop reading with the first few words because in your world there is no room for individuality only 'us' and 'them'. Sad really.

I believe Barack's administration will fulfill the promise of GenX leadership in the coming crisis. Calling the Millenials to the cause, tackling the problems sensibly and rationally (what a nice change) and seeing the country through the dark times.
